Florida defensive end Duke Lemmens reflected on his performance against Tennessee. He graded out as the defensive player of the week but Lemmens said he still feels he could have done better out there. He thinks his performance at the linebacker position was admirable, but he knows his footwork needs help.

The 5-2 defensive set is matched well with Duke Lemmens’ skill set and he’s a proponent of any position he can play on the field.

Lemmens has been waiting in the wings for a long time. He said he loved actually feeling sore on the plane home from the Tennessee game because he never used to feel anything after very little playing time. Now, as a team leader and a much-improved athlete, Lemmens is a guy coach Meyer says cannot be kept off the field. He is a success story that makes his teammates and coaches smile…or maybe that’s his sense of humor?
