Gators Get Outplayed by the Knights

Florida is 5-2 after their 57-54 loss to UCF in the Orlando Magic Amway Center. UCF proved too much to handle for a sluggish Florida team that shot 42% from the field, just 15.4% from beyond the arc and 55.6% from the line. Florida didn't get too much from struggling senior forward Chandler Parsons who went 0-for-6 from the charity stripe and came away with just two points.

Chandler Parsons' homecoming to Orlando wasn't pretty and proved deadly to Florida's offense. Vernon Macklin was very productive however and lead his team with 20 points and eight rebounds.

Erving Walker was behind Macklin with 16 total points and he said he still thinks Parsons is a great player despite his slump on the court tonight. Walker also talked about stepping up, avoiding mistakes and playing with strong effort.

Parsons talked about his frustration shooting the ball but said he can't let that affect his mentality because he can do more than just shoot for his team. Parsons admits his team isn't a very good team right now and has a good deal to straighten out before they hit SEC play.

Kenny Boynton came away with 10 points and three boards. Boynton said the better team won tonight and that the Knights wanted the victory more than the Gators.
