4 Time Pro-Bowler Next UF Assistant

Will Muschamp and the Florida Gators are in search of one last hire to fill out the football staff at the University of Florida. A name that has surfaced Friday for the vacant job is widely known in football circles and regarded as one of the best linemen to play the game. He does have a connection to one of Muschamp's staff and is yet another home run hire for the first time head coach.

Four time pro-bowler Bryant Young is the newest addition to Will Muschamp's staff. The 14-year veteran of the NFL's San Francisco 49ers, Young has ties to the staff at Florida as well. He played two years under the tutelage of new defensive coordinator Dan Quinn when Quinn coached the line at San Francisco. He was also the grad assistant at Notre Dame in 2009 under Charlie Weis.

Last year was his first season as a fulltime, paid assistant, coaching the D-line at San Jose State.

Young also has played football with Florida staff member and Gator great Terry Jackson who played fullback for the 49ers during his NFL career.

Young spent his first session as a Gator recruiter in the school of five-star defensive tackle Tim Jernigan of Lake City Columbia. Jernigan, who is getting visits from Alabama and Florida State among others on Friday is reportedly setting up a visit to meet Florida head coach Will Muschamp for the first time.

With a Super Bowl ring and 14 great years of NFL experience on his side, Young is another dynamite hire for Muschamp who has talked about wanting an NFL ‘flavor' for his staff.

Stay tuned and we will bring you more as we find it.
