Four days after wrapping up its non-conference season, Florida opens its attempt to defend the program’s 2011 SEC Championship, where the team posted a 13-3 record to tie the school record in conference wins.
The conference season begins January 7 with an 11 a.m. tip off in Knoxville when the Gators take on Tennessee.
After the Gators play their first home SEC game against Georgia on January 10th at 7 p.m. on ESPN, their next five games will be against teams that didn’t make the NCAA Tournament last season.
When those five games are over, the schedule gets much tougher.
The Gators then play at home versus Vanderbilt on February 4th, at Kentucky on February 7th and at home against Tennessee on February 11th, ending what looks to be the toughest trio of games on the schedule.
Four of the five games after those are on the road. The Gators play at Alabama (February 14) and at Arkansas (February 18) before coming home to play Auburn on February 21. Then it’s right back on the road to play at Georgia on February 25 and at Vanderbilt on February 28.
Florida ends conference play by hosting Kentucky on March 4 for a CBS televised game at noon.
