Walker, Boynton Named to Second Team All-SEC

The preseason SEC awards are littered with Kentucky basketball, but the Gators put guards Kenny Boynton and Erving Walker on the Second Team All-SEC. The media also picked Florida to finish third in the conference, as the Gators picked up one first place vote.

Kentucky took home 18 of the 23 first place votes. Vanderbilt received four, and Florida got the last one. The trio of SEC East teams flavors all of the preseason awards. Of the 11 players recognized on the First Team and Second Team, nine of them were from the three schools. Alabama forward JaMychal Green and Mississippi guard Dee Bost were the only two other players honored.

Erving Walker has been named a Second Team All-SEC selection following the past two seasons. Kenny Boynton was named a Second Team All-SEC selection following last season.

Vanderbilt was the only team with two selections to the First Team in guard John Jenkins and forward Jeffery Taylor. Kentucky put three players on the Second Team in guard Doron Lamb, guard Darius Miller and forward Anthony Davis, who was the only freshman named. Kentucky also put Terrence Jones on the First Team, and he was selected as the preseason SEC Player of the Year.
