The third day was the least active for Gators players and high school signees. Senior right-hander Greg Larson was the only Florida player taken while two baseball and one football recruit saw their named called.

Greg Larson had his name called in the 20th round when the Boston Red Sox pegged him with the 631st overall pick. The senior right-hander became the third Florida pitcher selected by the Red Sox in the draft, after Brian Johnson was taken in the first round and Austin Maddox was taken in the third round.

Larson was a 29th round pick to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in 2011 but elected to return for his senior season. He has been one of the most trusted arms out of the Florida bullpen during his career, and that is no different now. Larson is second on the team with 31 appearances and has a team-best 1.31 ERA while allowing just three extra-base hits on the season.

Larson is second in school history with 118 career appearances.

Since Kevin O’Sullivan took over as the head coach, the Gators have totaled 39 picks in the five-year span. Before he took over, the high for the program was eight in 1999 and 2002.

The Kansas City Royals selected Florida wide receiver signee Raph Andrades in the 38th round. Andrades, who played at Lincoln High School in Tallahassee, was a late addition to the 2012 recruiting class for Will Muschamp, and the outfielder could also give baseball a try in the spring.

The Seattle Mariners selected Florida shortstop signee Richie Martin in the 38th round. With the expected departure of Nolan Fontana, Martin slipped in the draft because he wasn’t considered signable since he preferred to go to college.

The Bloomingdale High School shortstop is a solid all-around player that was clocked running a 6.64 60.

The MLB Draft’s version of Mr. Irrelevant, going with the last pick on Wednesday, was right-hander Eric Hanhold. The Florida signee was a late riser at East Lake High School. He was a late commitment in this recruiting class after his fastball velocity reached the low 90s last fall.

Andrades, Martin and Hanhold have until July 13 to sign professionally or show up at Florida.
