Coach Heath hosted another hoops prospect on Friday when Bartow big man Chris Perry, a 6'8, 236 pound prospect that can play power forward/center took his first unofficial to USF.
"The visit was ridiculous and I totally loved it,” said Perry. “The coaches are great and the new facility is awesome. Everything just seemed amazing.”
Perry got to tour the campus and see the Bulls brand new state-of the-art practice facility and the completely remodeled Sun Dome.
“All I can say is they’re amazing,” said Perry. “Everything about it, their practice court, weight room to their new locker room right beside the court. It's really just great."
"I love their new arena,” said Perry. “I got a chance to play on it at a team camp also a few weeks back, it's really nice."
While on his visit, Perry got to spend some quality time with the USF coaching staff and developed a bond.
"I like being around the coaches, all of them. Coach Heath, the assistants, to their strength and conditioning coach. It was very comfortable,” said Perry. “They're all good men and we have a good relationship."
Perry claims 10 offers including ones from Memphis, South Florida, Cincinnati, Boston University, Georgia Southern, Jacksonville University, and Savannah State University, plus has interests from Florida, Baylor and Miami.
At this time he isn’t ready to name any favorites, but definitely enjoyed his first visit to USF. As of now he doesn’t have any other visits lined up.
“No I don’t have a leader or favorites,” said Perry. "But I really like USF!"
The 6-foot-8 big man averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds as a junior and also plays with the AAU Nike Elite Each 1 Teach 1.
“I play kind of play old school some say,” said Perry. “That’s probably because at my high school I can score around the rim. I have sick post moves and can shoot the ball.”
