Gators in the NFL: Week Eight

There were 21 former Gators that were active in week seven of the NFL season, and ten of them were starters for their pro team. Percy Harvin and Louis Murphy both scored touchdowns during week eight.

Percy Harvin started at wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings and made seven catches for 90 yards and a touchdown. He returned one kickoff for 43 yards.

Major Wright started at strong safety for the Chicago Bears and made five tackles, including one for a loss, and forced a fumble.

Chris Rainey saw time at running back and had four rushes for 26 yards with a long of 19. He also returned two kickoffs for 43 yards. Maurkice Pouncey started at center and Max Starks started at left tackle.

Brandon Spikes started at linebacker and led the New England Patriots with eight tackles and two pass deflections. Jermaine Cunningham saw time at defensive end and made two tackles.

Jeremy Mincey started at defensive end and made five tackles, including one sack.

Joe Haden started at cornerback for the Cleveland Browns and made eight tackles.

Jabar Gaffney saw time at receiver for the Miami Dolphins and made one reception for 30 yards. Mike Pouncey earned the start at center.

Ray McDonald started at defensive tackle and made three tackles, including two for a loss in a win for the San Francisco 49ers.

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Louis Murphy recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown.

Tim Tebow saw time at quarterback for the New York Jets and had one rush for two yards.

Ahmad Black made two tackles at safety for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Cooper Carlisle started at left guard for the Oakland Raiders. Maurice Hurt saw time at guard and tackle on the offensive line for the Washington Redskins.

Linebacker Brandon Siler made one special teams tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs.
