Gators in the NFL: Week 12

There were 20 former Florida players that were active in the NFL during week 12 and 12 of those players earned starting spots.

Brandon Spikes started at linebacker for the New England Patriots and led the team with 11 tackles while forcing a fumble and deflecting a pass. Defensive end Jermaine Cunningham started and made six tackles, including a tackle for a loss. Aaron Hernandez started at tight end and made two catches for 36 yards.

Cleveland Browns cornerback Joe Haden started and made three tackles, two pass deflections, one forced fumble and an interception.

Major Wright started at strong safety and made three tackles with a pass deflection and recorded a fumble recovery for the Chicago Bears.

Defensive end Carlos Dunlap made two tackles for the Cincinnati Bengals, including a tackle for a loss. Reggie Nelson started at free safety and made six tackles, one for a loss, two quarterback hits and a pass deflection.

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Louis Murphy saw time and made two catches for 65 yards.

Safety Will Hill made two tackles for the New York Giants.

Linebacker Mike Peterson saw time at linebacker and recorded one tackle for a loss for the Atlanta Falcons.

Defensive end Jeremy Mincey started for the Jacksonville Jaguars and made one tackle.

Defensive tackle Ray McDonald started for the San Francisco 49ers and made two tackles.

Riley Cooper started at wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, adding one catch for seven yards.

Mike Pouncey started at center for the Miami Dolphins. Cooper Carlisle started at left guard for the Oakland Raiders. For the Pittsburgh Steelers, Maurkice Pouncey started at center and Max Starks started at left tackle.

Chris Rainey saw five rushes for 17 yards with a touchdown, plus four receptions for 15 yards.

Safety Ahmad Black recorded one tackle for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Saw action but no stats: Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Brandon Siler.
