Harvin out vs. Packers, won't travel

Percy Harvin (Tom Dahlin/Viking Update)

The Vikings downgraded Percy Harvin's status and he won't play against the Packers.

Vikings receiver Percy Harvin was downgraded to "out" for the second Saturday in a row and won't travel to Green Bay because of his sprained left ankle.

Harvin didn't practice Friday and was listed as doubtful then after practicing only once on a limited basis since spraining his ankle Nov. 4.

"He did some drills, catching the football, but not the cutting that we'd like to be able to see," Frazier said after Friday's practice. "It seems like the ability to able to push off and change directions (is affecting him). That seems to be giving him a little bit of trouble."

It will be the third straight game he has missed.

Harvin was limited in Wednesday's practice and had a pronounced limp at the end of his routes. The Vikings gave him Thursday off in an attempt to rest the left ankle, hoping he would be able to do more on Friday.

Frazier said Thursday it would be more difficult to play Harvin Sunday in Green Bay if he didn't practice Friday. That became a certainty with his Saturday downgrade.

"No real setbacks, just hasn't made the improvement that we hoped," Frazier said.
