BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Rebel Coach Hugh Freeze was asked during the week leading up to the Compass Bowl how important a win to get to 7-6 would be. He hedged on his answer, but after the Rebs won, 38-17, over Pitt, he admitted it was "huge."

When the final horn sounded on Ole Miss' convincing 38-17 win over Pitt, a game that really was never in doubt from early on, something strange took place. Not only was Coach Hugh Freeze given a Gatorade bath, but he was also carried to midfield to shake hands with Panther Coach Paul Chryst.
