2014 Duke Dawson Breakdown

CB Duke Dawson

The Florida Gators are closing strong in 2013 and are off to an even better start for 2014. The Gators have verbal commitments from defensive tackle Travonte Valentine, wide out Ryeshene Bronson, quarterback Will Grier and now corner back Duke Dawson.

Duke Dawson checks in at 5'11 and 185-pounds from Cross City (FL) Dixie County high school and picked Florida over Florida State.

Duke Dawson Breakdown:

The first thing that jumps out on film is the way he flips his hips. Dawson has speed to turn and run with wide receivers and does an excellent job of turning his head and locating the ball in the air. He also does a good job in space wrapping up and is not afraid to pop offensive players. He reads and reacts well and displays great acceleration getting to the ball carrier. For me, his best attribute is his closing speed. He identifies plays quickly and gets great breaks on the ball. Dawson has ball hawking skills and the ability to read offenses making him very valuable to any defense. Duke Dawson is a complete football player in every sense of the word. Dukes Dawson is exactly what you look for in a defensive back. He is a natural football player that makes the game look effortless defending the pass and run.

The Gators are off to a great start in 2014 with two offensive and two defensive players at this time.
