Southern Defender Says He'll Visit Missouri

A physical defensive prospect from the heart of SEC country tells of his recent offer and plans to take an official visit to the University of Missouri this coming weekend as Signing Day quickly approaches. has received confirmation that the Missouri Tigers have recently extended a scholarship offer to 2013 safety prospect Shaun Rupert  6’1” 190  Montgomery (AL) Carver.    Rupert currently holds offers from Arkansas State, Florida International, Middle Tennessee, Minnesota, Northern Illinois, Penn State, Troy, UAB, UCF, ULL, and Vanderbilt, among others, in addition to Missouri.

Last fall, Rupert had verbally committed to Arkansas State, but with the coaching change, he has been considering other offers.

This weekend (1-25-13), Rupert is taking an official visit to Northern Illinois.   He’s planning to take an official visit to Missouri next weekend (2-01-13).

Rupert is a physical safety who has reportedly been timed at 4.4 seconds in the forty-yard dash, and he has registered a personal best of 38” in the standing vertical jump.

Rupert indicated that his final decision will likely come down to Arkansas State or Missouri.

“It’ll probably be Arkansas State or Missouri,”  explained Rupert.   “If I get up there, and Northern Illinois just really wows me (on the visit), then I would probably consider them, too.” Recommended Stories
