Douglas Makes 30

Georgia got an unexpected commitment from two-star Aquinas fullback Brendan Douglas on Friday night.

Douglas had been committed to Georgia Tech since November.

When asked about the switch in commitment Douglas confirmed the move to Fox Sports Next's Chad Simmons.

"Yes sir I did (commit to Georgia)," Douglas responded.

The move is a somewhat surprising move only days from Signing Day. The Bulldogs, who now have 30 commitments, are building up to a climatic end of the recruiting season next Wednesday that will involved no less than four prospects picking either the Dawgs of other rivals.

But Douglas' commitment pushes Georgia to one of its largest classes in school history no matter the results this coming week.

"Douglas is a big athlete who runs hard," Simmons said of the Augusta native. "He could be used as a running back or fullback for Georgia. This is an offer he has been waiting on, and he got it." Recommended Stories
