Akeem Jones Not in SU's Plans After All

Despite reports that Akeem Jones will be added to Syracuse's 2013, CuseNation.com has learned that is not the case. The Florida QB will not sign with the Orange. Details inside.

Syracuse's 2013 class was supposed to add a 20th player in Florida quarterback Akeem Jones. However, CuseNation.com has learned that Jones will not join the Orange's most recent recruiting class. This news is despite previous reports, including one by CuseNation.com, that Jones was set to sign very soon.

Jones admitted to CuseNation.com that the staff had not been in touch with him since they visited him on January 30th. That lack of communication was due to there not being a committable offer on the table.

Once the signed letters came in for Mitch Kimble and Austin Wilson, Jones' fate with the Orange was sealed. The Syracuse staff was only looking to add two quarterbacks in this class, and Jones was not one of them.

In addition, CuseNation.com has learned the 2013 class is complete at 19 players.
