Florida dropped in both polls for the second straight week, falling to No. 11 in the Associated Press Poll and No. 9 in the Coaches’ Poll.

Despite taking control of the Southeastern Conference standings with a win over Alabama on Saturday, the Gators dropped because of their loss at Tennessee last Tuesday. The Gators were down to six experienced players for that game but returned Michael Frazier and Will Yeguete for Saturday’s game.

Florida was challenged and responded after Alabama took an eight-point lead midway through the second half. The Gators took Alabama’s best shot and stormed back to secure a 12-point win.

Vanderbilt makes the trip to Gainesville on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. Florida can clinch the SEC title with a win. The Gators close the regular season playing at Kentucky on Saturday at noon.
