Leak joins Florida coaching staff

Florida head coach Will Muschamp announced on Wednesday that former Florida quarterback Chris Leak has been added to the coaching staff as a quality control coach. Leak served as a four-year starting quarterback for the Gators, winning the school's second national championship during the 2006 season.

Chris Leak has done work in radio since his football career came to an end, but he'll be back in orange and blue this season as a part of the Florida football coaching staff. The quality control coach position serves mostly to watch and study film.

Leak played in 37 games during his four-year career, including a streak of 33 straight starts. He threw a touchdown pass in all but two of his 33 starts and went 22-11 as a starter with a 15-8 record in Southeastern Conference play. Leak ranks fourth on the school's all-time list with 8,271 passing yards and ended his career with six 300-yard passing games.

He was the game's most valuable offensive player when Florida won the national championship in 2006.

Will Muschamp also announced on Monday that two four-star members of the 2013 signing class are now on campus. Offensive tackle Trenton Brown, coming in at 6-7, 345 pounds, and safety Marcell Harris both started school in Gainesville on Monday when the Summer A session began.

The rest of the signing class will report for Summer B classes that begin July 1.
