Adams down to six

Jamal Adams, No. 2 safety

With 30-plus offers in lap, including every college football power, Jamal Adams, the nation's No. 2 safety, has cut his pile to six and will be visiting a few in the coming weeks.

Above is the image that Jamal Adams released on Twitter Wednesday afternoon, announcing his Top Six schools in no particular order.

Texas A&M, Texas, Notre Dame, Florida, Ole Miss and Ohio State.

Adams visited Texas A&M last month, and has been to the University of Texas several times. He was last in Austin two weeks ago for the Longhorns' first summer camp.

And while several analysts predict the 6-foot, 199-pound safety will wind up a 'Horn, Florida receivers coach and close family friend Joker Phillips, Adams' godfather in fact and his father George's former teammate/roommate at Kentucky, remains a playing card- and in his ear.

Adams and family will travel to Florida this weekend.

He will visit Ole Miss July 19, noting, "Ohio State and Notre Dame I'm still deciding when."

He plans on "making all five" official visits this fall before deciding his college destination of choice, and will decide those five officials following summer visits.

Adams will also be competing at Nike Football's The Opening June 30-July 3, a showcase held at Nike World Headquarters in Oregon that will feature the nation's top 150 prospects participating in linemen, 7-on-7 and SPARQ testing competitions.

"Ready to prove I'm No. 1," he smiled.
