Quarterback Jeff Driskel
will be the first non-senior player to travel to SEC Media Days under head coach Will Muschamp
. The Florida
head coach usually prefers to send only seniors, but with Driskel taking the reigns of the team, it makes sense to send him to Hoover. He threw for 1,646 yards, 12 touchdowns and five interceptions as a sophomore, adding 413 yards and four touchdowns.
Defensive lineman Dominique Easley will join Driskel in Hoover. He has played in 29 games with 23 career starts during his career in Gainesville, totaling 67 tackles, 16 tackles for a loss and 5.5 sacks in his first three years. Last season, he led the Gators with four sacks.
Fifth-year senior offensive lineman Jon Halapio will be the third member of the Florida roster to join Muschamp at SEC Media Days. He has played in 41 career games and leads all active Florida players with 33 career starts. He has been named to the All-SEC Preseason Third Team by Lindy's and Athlon sports this summer.
Florida will join Missouri, Ole Miss and South Carolina in the afternoon session on Tuesday. FightinGators will be live in Hoover with plenty of coverage.
With Southeastern Conference Media Days under a week from beginning at The Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover, Ala., the conference announced the three player representatives that will travel for each team next week. Florida will participate during the event during the first session at 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
