Catching up with Five Star DT

DT Trenton Thompson

Albany (Ga.) Westover high school will be a regular hot spot for the next two year's as college coaches from across the country recruit Trenton Thompson. Thompson is the No. 4 ranked defensive tackle in the class of 2015. He is 6-foot-4, 280-pounds and still growing.

Trenton Thompson has offers from some of the biggest programs in college football. The five star defensive tackle has been offered by Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee to name a few. While the Bulldogs are the team to beat, Thompson also has a close relationship with the Gator coaching staff. Thompson talked about his fast start to the 2013 high school football season.

"I performed good so far," Trenton Thompson said. "I have 13 tackles and one sack. I would like to work on my foot work some more."

At this stage of the game it appears to be the Bulldogs and everyone else but that will not stop the Florida defensive line coach.

"We (Florida coaches) have a good relationship. We probably talk once a week," Thompson said. "The defensive line coach (Brad Lawing) and I talk about how I can make an impact."

Three teams from the Southeastern Conference and one from the Atlantic Coast Conference have the most contact with Thompson at this time.

"Georgia, Florida, South Carolina and Clemson."

Thompson is coming off an impressive season with 65 tackles, 12 for loss and another five sacks. The five star defensive tackle will be one of the most heavily recruited players to come out of the peach state in 2015 regardless of position.
