Phillips returns to Kentucky

Joker Phillips has made a difference in Gainesville during his first year as the wide receivers coach. As the most heavily criticized position on the team last year, the Gators are now seeing their receivers get open and make plays down the field. Players are a year older and more physically mature, but they all credit Phillips for the development. On Saturday, he returns to his old home.

Phillips made a name for himself at Kentucky. He started his career in Lexington from 1988-96, serving as a graduate assistant before moving to recruiting coordinator and eventually wide receivers coach. He left after the 1996 season and ran through tours at different schools before ultimately returning to Lexington. That's when Phillips started to make a big impact on the Kentucky offense. From...
