Video: Hardin knows about high standard at UF
Posted Oct 1, 2013

Gators kicker Austin Hardin had some pretty big shoes to fill this season. Hardin redshirted his freshman year to sit behind senior Caleb Sturgis, who is now 7-7 with the Miami Dolphins. Hitting on on four of seven field goals so far this year, Hardin thinks he can do better.

Austin Hardin has scored more points than any other Gator this year, so goes it with the kicking position. But with a 4 of 7 mark and a long of 33-yards, he jknows he has to get better.

Hardin had an opportunity to kick a 53 yarder against Kentucky on Saturday, but missed. Still, his head coach continues to have confidence in him.

After sitting behind Miami Dolphins kicker Caleb Sturgis during his freshman year, Hardin says he is trying to fulfill the higher standard for kicking at Florida.

He talks about any pressure from Florida head coach Will Muschamp, what went wrong on his missed field goal against Kentucky, his relationship with Sturgis, and more in this video segment.
