Loucheiz Purifoy stole the show from the beginning of the game. He gave the Gators the ball after a cornerback blitz created his first career sack and a forced fumble that was recovered by Michael Taylor
. In the second quarter, Purifoy jumped a pass from Arkansas
quarterback Brandon Allen
and returned it for a touchdown. It was the first interception of his career.
He ended the game with four tackles and three pass breakups. Purifoy also returned two punts for 17 yards.
The junior was also named the Walter Camp Defensive Player of the Week, a Paul Horning Award Honoree and a College Football Performance Award Defensive Performer of the Week.
No. 17 Florida will travel to face No. 10 LSU at 3:30 p.m. this Saturday.
The defensive accolades continue to pour in for cornerback Loucheiz Purifoy. The junior had the best game of his career on Saturday against Arkansas by filling the stat sheet in different areas. Purifoy is Florida's second defensive player to win the award after Dante Fowler earned it for his performance against Tennessee.
