Gators in the NFL: Week Nine

There were 14 former Gators that saw action in week nine of the NFL season with 14 of them earning the start. Riley Cooper had the breakout game this week.

Riley Cooper started at wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles and made five catches for 139 yards and scored a team-high three touchdowns.

Carlos Dunlap started at defensive end for the Cincinnati Bengals and forced a fumble while adding two solo tackles. Reggie Nelson started at free safety and made six tackles.

Matt Elam started at free safety for the Baltimore Ravens and made two includes, including one tackle for a loss. Deonte Thompson saw time at receiver and made three catches for 24 yards.

Jordan Reed started at tight end for the Washington Redskins and made four catches for 37 yards, adding one rush for 18 yards.

Major Wright started at safety for the Chicago Bears and led the team with eight tackles. Jon Bostic started at middle linebacker and made four tackles.

Brandon Spikes started at linebacker for the New England Patriots and made three solo tackles.

Mike Pouncey started at center for the Miami Dolphins. Kicker Caleb Sturgis went 2-3 in field goal attempts.

David Nelson saw time at receiver for the New York Jets and made one catch for 19 yards.

Janoris Jenkins started at cornerback for the St. Louis Rams and made one tackle.

Marcus Gilbert started at right tackle for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Saw time but no stats: Miami Dolphins linebacker Jelani Jenkins, Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd.

The Denver Broncos, Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers were all on bye this week. Those four rosters have six former Gators.
