Alabama has been working vigorously on the recruiting trail this week with no game on Saturday, and it paid off Wednesday morning with the commitment of East Mississippi Community College four-star Jarran Reed.

Jarran Reed played things close to the vest in February before deciding to sign with the University of Florida, and after things didn't work out, he's played the recruiting game the same way.

The 6-foot-4, 325-pound four-star prospect dominated this fall at East Mississippi Community College, where recruiters again flocked to keep up with him.

On Wednesday, a visit from Nick Saban ended that process.

"Want to thank God and everyone but my decision is final I will be joining Alabama," Reed posted on Twitter. "I'm committed to Tide, Roll Tide Roll." confirmed his commitment shortly thereafter.

Reed, who finished the regular season with 60 tackles, 3.5 sacks and 7.5 tackles for loss, becomes the second four-star commitment for Alabama in the last three days, joining defensive back Laurence Jones. The defensive tackle is joined by Johnny Dwight, O.J. Smith and Josh Frazier at the position on Alabama's class of 2014 commitment list (view HERE).

Alabama, already holding the top spot int he team recruiting rankings, now has 24 verbal commitments for the cycle. will have much more from this developing story.
