Analyzing the home winning streak

The Gators broke the school record by winning their 25th consecutive home game on Tuesday night. The streak is now the third longest active streak in the country behind only Stephen F. Austin and Duke. Florida won't have a chance to extend it until January 25 against Tennessee, but it made history on Tuesday against Georgia.

The streak previously belonged to Florida's back-to-back national championship teams and was snapped early in the season after they decided to leave for the NBA.

During the current 25-game home winning streak, the Gators are averaging wins by a score of 74.2-52.2. With the +22 average scoring margin, there have been eight games that Florida has won by 30+ points. The Gators have scored a total of 1,857 points during the streak.

Florida has had success this season because of their strong defense, which has been a theme during the home winning streak. Florida has held opponents under 60 points in 20 of the 25 games during the streak and no opponent has scored over 70 points in the O'Connell Center. The Gators are outrebounding teams by +5.9 and have a +5.1 advantage in the turnover margin.

Five of the 25 wins have been against ranked opponents while 11 wins have come against Southeastern Conference opposition.

Michael Frazier and Patric Young are the only two players to appear in all 25 games. Young has started in 24 of the games. The senior center also leads the Florida roster in points during the streak, scoring 268 with 174 rebounds. Scottie Wilbekin leads the Gators with 95 assists and 35 steals while Frazier has hit 52 three-pointers during the streak.

There have been 17 different Florida players see the court during the winning streak -- Kenny Boynton, Eli Carter, Billy Donovan, Lexx Edwards, Dorian Finney-Smith, Frazier, Dillon Graham, Kasey Hill, Jacob Kurtz, Erik Murphy, Braxton Ogbueze, Casey Prather, Mike Rosario, DeVon Walker, Wilbekin, Will Yeguete and Young.

Ten different players have started during the streak -- Boynton, Frazier, Hill, Murphy, Prather, Rosario, Walker, Wilbekin, Yeguete and Young.

The best scoring performance came from Casey Prather, who posted 28 points against North Florida in the season opener on November 8, 2013.
