Gators ranked in two preseason polls

Florida was ranked in both preseason college baseball polls that were released on Monday morning.

The Gators will start the season at No. 15 in the Perfect Game poll and No. 23 in the Baseball America poll. Florida was ranked No. 16 in the other poll released this offseason by Collegiate Baseball.

Florida advanced to the NCAA Tournament last season for the sixth straight season, matching the longest streak in program history.

There were seven other Southeastern Conference teams in the Baseball America poll. South Carolina was 7th, Mississippi State was 8th, LSU was 9th, Vanderbilt was 10th, Alabama was 21st, Texas A&M was 24th and Arkansas was 25th.

The Gators open the season against Maryland on February 14 at 7 p.m.
