Florida senior Casey Prather was selected to the midseason top 30 list for the Naismith Men’s Player of the Year trophy, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced on Thursday.

Casey Prather is currently leading the Gators with 15.3 points while shooting 61.2 percent from the field and 67.5 percent from the free throw line. The senior forward has scored in double figures during 19 of his 22 games on the court for Florida this season.

Kentucky forward Julius Randle was the only other player from the Southeastern Conference that was nominated.

The trophy will be awarded to college basketball’s best player. Last season, former Michigan guard Trey Burke won the award.
