Norton has Florida up there

Jacksonville Trinity Christian defensive tackle Kendrick Norton showed up on the Florida campus again Friday for the gators’ Friday Night Lights camp. Although he didn’t participate, his presence seems like a good sign for the Gators who are looking to fill some needs in the defensive trenches. Norton talked to Scout.com on Monday and a little about his thoughts on the Gators.

Kendrick Norton spent a couple of days in June at Florida’s camp and right alongside defensive line coach Brad Lawing. On Friday he showed again in Gainesville and had a good time at Florida’s premiere camp.

“It was nice,” Norton said of Friday Night Lights. “I had a chance to see some other recruits and stuff.”

The Gators have moved up the charts since his de-commitment from Florida State in June. Right now, he doesn’t have another focus.

“I like Florida, they are one of my leaders right now,” he said. I’m not really sure about anyone else.”

Norton has no timetable to announce a decision and says tit will, “just be when I am ready”. He has a couple of former Trinity Christian teammates on the Florida roster and says they are just there for him if he has any questions.

“They aren’t pushing me,” he said of former teammates Kavaris Harkless and Nick Washington. “They are just telling me about their experiences at Florida and letting me do my thing.”

In the end, Kendrick knows what he is looking for when he makes his decision.

“It will be about being happy and comfortable,” he said.
