Jackson gives a big target to Florida offense

Kalif Jackson is a huge target for the future for Florida.

Neptune Beach Fletcher receiver Kalif Jackson committed to the University of Florida Tuesday giving the Gators a huge target at the B position in Kurt Roper’s offense. At 6-foot-4.5 and 195 pounds Jackson has great hands and is a big red zone target that Florida can take advantage of.

Jackson announced on Twitter this morning that he was just offered by the Florida. He traveled to Gainesville during the day and followed it up with another tweet after his visit.

“I also just committed to the University of Florida,” he posted.

Jackson has been a long time Gator fan but camped a few times without an offer . Friday Night Lights came around and the staff really liked what they saw out of him as a big steady target for quarterbacks. He made tough catches look easy and he went high in the air to get several balls. They made the move to offer him at the “B” position or the new tight end spot at Florida and after he considering it he liked the idea.

“I’m extremely excited to be a part of the program,” he told Jason Higdon after he announced his intentions.

Jackson has offers from the likes of Duke, Stanford, Georgia Tech, and the like. His brother attends Ivy League Princeton as well. Academics are huge for him and Florida fits that part of his game plan as well.

“The school is great in academics as well as sports,” he said.

Florida continues to seek quality skill players on offense like Jackson. We will continue to keep in touch and also follow up with Jackson for more on his commitment.”
