The Florida Gators will still be hot on the recruiting trail for the best prospects in the state and nationally, even if things take a little bit of a back seat with the start of the season. The Gators really need to fill a void at the running back position in the 2015 class and Miami (Fla.) Westminster Christian Jordan Cronkrite is one they are still after despite his commitment elsewhere.
Cronkrite admits he is “still talking to Florida”, despite his long time commitment to the University of Miami.
“I am considering Florida and am keeping my options open,” he said by Monday evening.
Florida running back coach Brian White has been on a few backs in the class, but getting one to sign on hasn’t happened yet. Cronkrite says the Florida coach lets him know how important he is to the class.
“We talk about how he wants me on campus more and to get more familiar with the coaches,” Cronkrite said of his conversations with White.
Friday night he scored a touchdown in just a little over a quarter of play in his team’s 49-20 win and the four-star Cronkrite is expected to have a huge season.
Cronkrite says he will visit the Gators sometime during the season, “depending on my game schedule.”
Stay tuned to Scout and Fightin’ Gators as we continue to follow the season and recruitment of this outstanding South Florida back
The four-star back from Miami is a big need for the gators.
