GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The University of Florida posted a league-high 45 Southeastern Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll members, Commissioner Mike Slive announced on Monday. The league announced 286 recipients overall from its 12 member institutions, as Georgia was second with 37 and Auburn close behind with 36.

men's swimmers honored. Sara McLarty, a 15-time All-American and the 2003 SEC champion in the 500-yard freestyle earned SEC Academic honors for the second consecutive year and was one of 15 Florida women's swimmers to earn a place on the SEC's honor roll.
The gymnastics team, set to participate in the NCAA Championships on Thursday, had seven athletes honored. Erin Pendleton, Kimberly Schatz and Kara Waterhouse earned places on the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the second consecutive year.
Six Florida women's basketball players were named to the honor roll, led by Danielle Santos who started all 30 games this season, and Bernice Mosby, the Gators' second-leader scorer at 13.4 points per game.
For the second consecutive year
David Lee
and Seth Haimovitch were named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll. Lee, a Second-Team All-SEC forward, surpassed 1,000 career points this season and averaged 13.3 points per game.
The University of Florida had 37 Fall SEC Academic Honor Roll members, giving it 82 so far this year. Over the past three-plus academic years, the University has had 549 SEC Academic Honor Roll recipients, the highest total in the league during that stretch.
