Hot 100 OL Ready to Shorten List?

Josh McNeil is arguably the top Center prospect in the country and he was recently given 4-star status and named to the National Hot 100 by TheInsiders. McNeil has pretty much kept everybody guessing about where he may be leaning to this point, but is the Mississippi star ready to tip his hand now?

“I’m still not ready to name a top 5 just yet. I have 7 or 8 schools I’m looking at and those are Florida, Mississippi State, Georgia, Nebraska, LSU, Tennessee and Ole Miss. I don’t have a leader yet and I’m wide open,” Josh McNeil said.

What stands out about each of his favorites?

Florida: “I went down there about two weeks ago and I got to spend some time with Coach Zook. I really like him and the facilities they have.”

Mississippi State: “I really like the new staff and I think they are going to do some good things this year. They have a lot of new construction on campus and new buildings go up too.”

Georgia: “I don’t really know much except that they win a whole lot. Coach Richt called me in May and he seems like a real upstanding guy. I’m excited to take a visit there.”

Nebraska: “They are always right in the running for the Big 12 championship. Me and Coach Callahan really relate to each other and he gets you excited to play offensive line.”

LSU: “They won the national championship. Their facilities are top notch and I like the overall atmosphere on campus.”

Tennessee: “They have one of the biggest stadiums in the country and great facilities. They always have a good program year after year.”

Ole Miss: “They finished 2nd in the SEC-West last year and they are building a lot of new facilities so they have good things going on.”

What is Josh looking for most of all in the school of his choice?

“I’m looking at the overall environment and the facilities on campus. I’m also considering the depth chart and the overall winning tradition of the program.”

Will McNeil be camping anywhere this summer?

“I’m not going to camp but I’ve been taking some unofficial visits. I’ve already been to Florida, LSU and Mississippi State. I will also visit Georgia later this July.”

With the Magnolia State big man already having a brother in Starkville, you would think that MSU might have a slight advantage. Is this the case?

“No it’s not an advantage at all. I have learned a lot from my brother though, such as going out and trying your hardest, giving your best, and going 110% when you get an opportunity.”

Josh looks like he’ll be keeping the stomachs of many fans in stitches for quite sometime.

“I’m likely going to take all my visits before I make any kind of decision. I’ll probably schedule them all for after the season.”
