Markihe Anderson walked away from The Swamp late Saturday night with a big smile on his face. The 5-10, 175-pound cornerback from Fort Myers (FL) Dunbar, who is a Florida commitment, left the stadium in awe of the big crowd and ready to come to Gainesville to do his part for the Gators next season.

"Man, that was unbelievable," said Anderson about watching the Gators dispose of Tennessee 16-7 Saturday night before a record crowd of 90,716, the most fans to ever watch a sporting event in the state of Florida. Anderson attended the game with his dad, whom he said had a great time as well. "I can't wait to get to UF."

While he waits for his chance to be a Gator, Anderson will be back in Fort Myers doing his part to help Dunbar win a district championship. As a senior, he's also taken the responsibility of helping to show his younger but very talented teammates the ropes.

"Now I have to step up and be a real leader on and off the field," he said. "I'm trying to stay healthy and do the right things so that I can get to Florida in good shape."

When asked if committing to Florida early on had made life easier both on and off the field he said "In some ways yes, and in some ways no."

During his visit to Gainesville for the Tennessee game he had a chance to spend some time with one of the jewels of Coach Urban Meyer's first recruiting class, cornerback Avery Atkins of Daytona Beach Mainland.

"I got to speak to Avery down on the field before the game and it was a lot of fun," he said. "Avery encouraged me to work hard and stay focused and next fall will be here before I know it".

Anderson left Gainesville with positive feelings. Sitting in the south end zone seats, he was part of a huge, excited crowd cheering the Gators to victory. The experience left him eager to be a part of Gator football so he can be on the field helping the Gators to win in the future.
