LSU Coverages Caught Gators With Pants Down

It all came down to a numbers game for LSU Defensive Coordinator Bo Pelini Saturday. He simply took a look at Florida's backfield and if the Gators went empty or had one back in to protect Chris Leak, his plan was to blitz with one more man that the Gators could block.

When Florida emptied the backfield with a five-wide set, LSU sent six men on the pass rush. When the Gators protected with six, LSU sent seven. Their blitzes were so disruptive that Florida quarterback Chris Leak was harassed into his worst passing game as a college quarterback, 11-30 for 107 yards.
