RECRUITING: Lakeland Five Go For History

The Lakeland Dreadnaughts will be attempting to accomplish what few teams ever have in Florida high school football history. In 2006, they will be going for their third straight Class 5A championship and their second straight USAToday National Championship. They have a 35-game winning streak on the line that could stretch to 50 games if they go unbeaten in 2006.

The cornerstone of another championship run will be their five outstanding rising seniors: Chris Rainey, James and LeShawn Pouncey, John Brown and Paul Wilson. Gator Country caught up with Lakeland's version of the Fab Five Sunday at the US Army All-American Bowl/Reebok National Combine. Here is a video of the Lakeland five and their thoughts about winning more championships and extending the winning streak.
