One Final Push

The Orlando Magic will take one more shot at retaining Billy Donovan as their head coach. The two sides have been in discussions for the last 48 hours, and now the Magic want one more chance to keep Donovan.

After accepting the job with the Orlando Magic on Thursday and attending two press conferences on Friday, sources say Billy Donovan began to rethink his decision on Friday night.

Donovan had agreed to a five-year, $27.5 million contract with the Magic, citing several reasons for his jump to the NBA. Donovan was excited about the Magic roster, the senior management team and the salary cap room. Not to mention, he liked Orlando's proximity to his home in Gainesville, which would have made his family's transition to the job easier.

But sources say, Donovan had a change of heart on Friday evening, and on Saturday morning began the process of returning as coach at the University of Florida.

Sources also say the Orlando Magic will make one last attempt at convincing Donovan sometime on Monday before ultimately letting him out of the contact should he still choose to.
