While his top five has not changed, A.J. Jenkins now mentions that Louisville might be a good fit for someone with his skills.
“They have a nice offense and I think that with my speed I could come in and contribute right away,” Jenkins said.
All of his top five schools are recruiting him very hard at this time but the last head coach that he spoke with was Florida's Urban Meyer.
“I am talking to all the coaches but the last one that I spoke with was Urban Meyer," he said. "He really wants me to come to Friday Night Lights so we can get to know each other on a personally level. Coach Meyer wants to know my background and where I come from and all the little things as well. That is why I trust him."
"I have the closest relationship and bond with Coach Billy Gonzales out of any of the other coaches that I am talking to at this time. He wants to know about my girlfriend and all kinds of things. We have a great relationship. I know that they are looking for me to come in and play the same spot that Andre Caldwell plays. They are looking for that speedy wide receiver, and they think that’s me.”
Jenkins is heading to South Carolina, Illinois, LSU and Georgia Tech before heading to Gainesville for Friday Night Lights. Jenkins is very excited about meeting the former Gator coach Steve Spurrier.
“I have not met with him yet," Jenkins said. "I am talking to his son right now but I can’t wait to meet Coach Spurrier. He is one of the greatest offensive minds in the game.”
