Heath Cline Joins FightinGators.com Team

FightinGators.com continued its commitment to put together the top team covering the Florida Gators on line with the addition of Heath Cline to the staff. Cline has been covering the Gators since 1994 when he first joined the staff of WRUF as a student reporter.
He is currently hosting a show on WBXY-FM (99.5) in Gainesville weekdays from 11:00am to 1:00pm. You can listen to his program at
www.thestar.fm
.
“Adding Heath is a great addition for FightinGators.com”, said senior writer Larry Vettel. “From the first day Heath began working for me as a student it was obvious he had a passion for sports and an insatiable desire to learn as much as he can. I have more than two dozen former students working in the sports media, and I’d take Heath over any of them in a game of Sports Jeopardy. His knowledge of the entire spectrum is sports is unmatched by anyone covering the Gators today. He will be a great asset not only in his analysis of what is going on with the Gators, but the regional and national picture as well.”
In addition to working in Gainesville, Cline spent three years working in sports radio in Jacksonville and has been heard hosting the overnight show on ESPN Radio nationwide. Currently Cline also serves as regular contributor to “Todd Wright Tonight” on Sporting News Radio.
“Unlike most of us who cover and comment on the Gators”, Vettel added. “Heath does not work any of their broadcasts or telecasts. Therefore he has a level of detachment and independence that serves his listeners well. It will serve FightinGators.com readers equally well.”
