At last week's SEC Media Days, SEC Supervisor of Officials Rogers Redding talked about the decision to move kickoffs from the 35-yard line to the 30. Despite the change, the Gators most recent commitment may not have trouble getting the ball to the end zone. Caleb Sturgis consistently reached the end zone from the 40 as a high school junior.

Caleb Sturgis profile

Former Chicago Bear's kicker Mike McCabe hosts one of the top kicking camps in the nation, and last year, Sturgis averaged more than 70 yards per kick with a hang time of 4.25 seconds.

On good days, Sturgis said he can consistently nail field goals from 60 yards out, and as a junior, he was 8-of-16 with six of his misses coming from 56 yards plus. He also was near perfect on extra points; his only misses came on bad snaps.

His highlight tape includes some of his longest kickoffs and field goals, including a 49-yarder he made during the 2005 State Championship Game at Dolphin Stadium.
