After dropping out two weeks ago, the Florida Gators are back in the Associated Press top 10. Florida still ranks No. 11 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
South Carolina
’s loss to
Vanderbilt
, USF’s loss to
Rutgers
and the
Kentucky
loss to the Gators dropped all three teams from the top 10, allowing the Gators to slide back in.
Florida
defeated then No. 7/8 ranked Kentucky 45-37 on Saturday.
In the AP poll, Florida is in a tie with
USC
for the ninth spot. Both teams have 1,107 points. The Gators have one more loss than the Trojans, but both Gator losses are at the hands of current top 25 teams.
LSU
moved up two spots to No. 3 after their come-from-behind win against
Auburn
on Saturday night. The Tigers also received five first place votes.
In the USA Today Coaches Poll, the Gators are one slot shy of the top 10, coming in at No. 11. The Gators gained two spots after Saturday’s win, but undefeated
Kansas
is ranked ahead of them. Only five points separate the Gators from the Jayhawks, which is the slimmest margin between two teams except for the two points that separate Auburn and
Alabama
at Nos. 23 and 24, respectively.
The Gators face
Georgia
on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs rank No. 19 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and No. 20 in the AP.
