Former Gator golfers Camilo Villegas and Dudley Hart were the stars of the show at the BMW Championship in St. Louis. Villegas claimed his first professional victory with a score of 15-under par 265 to claim his first PGA Tour victory.

Hart blistered the course with a final round 65, giving him second place by himself, two strokes behind Villegas.

The two Gators made it a very profitable weekend indeed. Villegas will get a check for $1.26 million for his win, while Dudley will settle for the runner-up payday of $756,000. That’s just more than $2 million for the two Gator greats for their weekend of work.

Villegas also put himself in position for another huge payday at the tour championship in Atlanta in three weeks. He has moved into second place behind Vijay Singh in the FedEx Cup standings and while he can’t catch Singh for the title, he can add to his incredible year which has already brought more than $3 million in earnings.

The Florida Gators have a long history of sending outstanding golfers to the PGA Tour. Villegas (2001-04) and Hart (1987-90) are two prime examples.
