Luther Robinson back from Gainesville
Luther Robinson is an active defensive tackle, a playmaker from the interior line that is hard to find on the recruiting trail. With the injuries the Gators had in 2008, depth at defensive tackle is a priority and so Head Coach Urban Meyer himself was a big part of recruiting Robinson for the weekend.
"I talked to Coach Meyer a lot during the visit and it went pretty well," Robinson said. "He told me about the school, the academics, and the graduation rate."
Florida defensive line coach Dan McCarney was also in the ear of Robinson over the weekend. Robinson seemed to take to McCarney's enthusiastic outlook on things.
"Coach McCarney is a high energy guy," Robinson said. "He talked to me about why they need me on the defensive line and where I would fit in and stuff like that."
With the two coaches in his ear and the glow of a national championship still around Gainesville, it wasn't enough to make Robinson rethink his commitment to the University of Miami.
"It went pretty good, a nice visit," Robinson said. "My host was David Young and he's really playful. It was all pretty nice. (Florida is) still in the same spot with everyone else...I am still committed to Miami.
Luther Robinson will visit the University of Central Florida on January 23 and then on to Miami for the January 30 weekend.
