Florida basketball signee Kenny Boynton has been named to the McDonald’s All-American team. The sharp shooting guard from American Heritage in Plantation, Florida will join 23 other high school standouts in the annual event on April 1.

Kenny Boynton will enjoy a bit of a home court advantage since this year’s McDonald’s games are in Miami. He’ll be coached by two well regarded South Florida High School coaches in Darryl Burrows of Ft. Lauderdale Dillard and Mark Lieberman from Monsignor Pace.

Boynton is having a superb senior season for American Heritage averaging more than 30 points a game. The 6-3 guard is ranked the No. 2 shooting guard in the country by and No. 8 among all prep seniors. He is expected to challenge for immediate playing time with the departure of senior Walter Hodge from the Gators roster.
