Nothing Like a Good Hit for Tebow
Tim Tebow

There’s nothing like a good hit to get Tim Tebow going. The Florida quarterback looked sluggish through the first quarter. Then, he broke free on a rush up the middle, running practically untouched until a Troy safety stepped up to make the tackle. Tebow lowered his shoulder, knocking the defender on his back and picking up another couple of yards.
The carry didn’t end in a touchdown, but it got
Tim Tebow
’s juices going. From then on, the former Heisman winner led his offense with a stellar performance from the defense to a 56-6 blowout of
Troy
.
“Sometimes I will play more intense after I get hit, or hit someone,” Tebow said.
It wasn’t just Tebow who didn’t look sharp in the first quarter. The offense had to be bailed by the defense until Tebow could get things going.
With as many new starters as the Gators have at receiver this year, it is no surprise it is taking Tebow sometime to look more comfortable in the passing game, but he said the team continues to look better as time goes on.
“I think we are ahead of where we were last year, and I think we are going to continue executing,” he said. “We’ve got some new guys in there just feeling everything out.”
*****************
Tebow said the touchdown pass to
Deonte Thompson
after dropping the first pass thrown to him helped Thompson realize they would keep going back to him, and they hadn’t lost confidence in him.
*****************
Tebow reiterated Meyer’s statement that someone ran the wrong route on his touchdown pass to
Riley Cooper
. Unlike Meyer, who blamed Cooper, Tebow refused to throw anyone under the bus.
*****************
Expect to see a more fired up Tebow during the
Tennessee
game next Saturday. The quarterback said there is definitely something different when they play a rival like the Volunteers.
*****************
The Gators put their two-minute offense to work right before halftime, and it came out unsuccessful, running out of time before it could score. Tebow was visibly upset and said they need to be better in those situations.
*****************
Tebow said his throwing mechanics are basically the same, and he has felt comfortable throwing so far this season.
*****************
It’s not just the crowd that enjoys sitting back and watching
Chris Rainey
and
Jeff Demps
run the ball. The duo entertains Tebow as well with their explosiveness. He also credited them for being tougher runners than people realize.
