This is one of the less inspiring viewing weeks remaining on the college football schedule, but Florida-Georgia's always worth watching. CBS has this game locked up for years as their 3:30 broadcast, with Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson on the call as always.
Here's the best of the rest to watch wrapped around it, possibly while waiting out the never ending traffic jams in the parking lot outside Jacksonville Municipal Stadium afterward.
The noon window has two games that might not be great, but both should be interesting. The ACC's Raycom package has NC State visiting FSU. The Seminoles pulled their season out of the fire against UNC a week ago, but the last noon kick in Tallahassee saw them sleepwalk through a loss to USF. NC State can't defend anybody, so this one could turn into a shootout. At 12:21
Ole Miss
visits
Auburn
on ESPN's SEC Network over the air package. A week after beating
Arkansas
, Houston Nutt gets to face his former assistant and current Auburn OC
Gus Malzahn
for the first time.
It's a good thing you want to watch Florida-Georgia, because the other 3:30 options may be the weakest we've had all year. ABC has
Miami
at
Wake Forest
if you're interested in seeing how they regroup after last week's loss to
Clemson
. There's really not much else even close to watchable, although Penn State at
Northwestern
on ESPN at 4:30 might be worth a flip over during commercials.
Most of the best action is at night this week. Four years ago Gator fans cheered in the parking lot in Jacksonville as
Steve Spurrier
's first South Carolina squad edged
Tennessee
. If Spurrier can pin another loss on Lane Kiffin, they'll probably do it again. ESPN has the game from Knoxville beginning at 7:53.
ABC has two watchable options beginning at 8, with
USC
at
Oregon
and
Texas
at
Oklahoma State
. Whichever game the ABC outlet you're watching is showing, the other matchup will be on ESPN2. An Oregon win gives them the inside track to the Rose Bowl and helps
Boise State
out in the BCS. Oklahoma State is the only team Texas will have played that's in the BCS Ratings top 25, and they have no more teams in the top 25 left on their schedule.
There's no late night starting games at all this week, not even a bad one. If you're looking for more college football Sunday night,
Marshall
will be at
UCF
beginning at 8:15 on ESPN.
