Audio: Gonzales Talks Receivers

Billy Gonzales

Florida receiver coach Billy Gonzales spent a great deal of time with the media Sunday and talked a lot about his receivers. While two are playing very well and getting a lot of touches, the rest are pretty anonymous this season. As the Gators prepare for the stretch run as the nation's No. 1 team, Gonzales knows his guys have to be ready to go at any time.

Billy Gonzales has earned a reputation as one of the finest receiver coaches in America. Three of his latest pupils, Andre Caldwell, Percy Harvin, and Louis Murphy are stars on their respective teams. Gonzales was pursued in the last couple of off seasons by two NFL teams and two prominent SEC teams.

This has been a different year for the Florida coach as two of his receivers, Aaron Hernandez and Riley Cooper have been frequent targets of Heisman Trophy quarterback Tim Tebow, and the others haven't. He talks about that here.

He also discusses the emergence of Omarius Hines and in particular the lack of attention to starting receiver Deonte Thompson.

Listen here as Gonzales goes into great detail on all of the above and more. Recommended Stories
