“Moooooooooody!!!”, have been the cries from the crowd when Florida senior-to-be running back Emmanuel Moody would run the ball for a nice gain. Always a fan favorite for his hard and yet evasive running style, Moody is looking to be a more integral part of a possible new look Florida offense in 2010. After an exciting game in the Sugar Bowl, Moody wants to have a big year.
The
Florida
Gators scored 51 points and had more than 600-plus yards of offense against Cincinnati in the Sugar Bowl.
Emmanuel Moody
got to show off his ability to run and catch the ball in space and make plays. After the game, Moody was giddy thinking about what just happened.
“I just felt like it was the last game and coach did a great job of spreading the ball around,” Moody said of offensive coordinator turned interim head coach
Steve Addazio
. “Tim (Tebow) made some good reads and everyone was happy getting the ball today.”
According to Moody, the week leading up to the Sugar Bowl was a little different than the rest of the season. The Gators were wound a little too tight all year and the week in New Orleans was a lot different.
“I felt this week practices were fun,” Moody said. “We didn't have the stress of keeping a perfect record any more. We went out there and had some fun. We didn't have much pressure.”
For Moody, it was a game that displayed his talents as a back in this offense. He scored on two nice rushing touchdowns although held to just 18 yards. He also caught four passes out of the backfield. He is looking to make a bigger impact next season.
Moody did decide to put his name into the hat for the NFL draft just to find out where he might be drafted. Whatever he found out, he decide he would be back again for 2010.
“I did put an evaluation in, but I am coming back next year,” he said. “I feel like I am going to be faster and stronger (in 2010). Hopefully the coaches will be committed to me next year and help me get to the NFL.”
