Cody Jones Joins Fightin' Gators' Staff

Fightin' Gators is pleased to announce the signing of our newest staff member, Cody Jones. Jones comes to the Scout.com network after spending the last four years doing a great job at GatorCountry.com. His recent graduation and the job he has done thus far in the business has made him a hot commodity in the world of Gators' sports coverage. Jones will be starting with our staff shortly.

A native of Daytona Beach, Cody Jones is a graduate of the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications. He has been covering the Florida athletic program for four years. He started by covering Florida recruiting before focusing on the football team in 2008. Jones has covered the Florida baseball team since 2008, as well as spending time covering the basketball and softball teams.

At Fightin' Gators Jones will serve as the site's beat writer for all Gator sports. This will start an effort to step up the coverage of the different sports outside of football and basketball. Of course Cody Jones will be adding to our football and basketball coverage as well.

Jones makes frequent appearances on ESPN Radio in Gainesville and St. Augustine to talk about whichever sport is in season, and has been a fixture in the Gainesville sports scene since shortly after his arrival at the University of Florida four years ago.
