Tampa Junior DT Will Visit for FNL
"I have been playing for just two years," Earl Moore said earlier this week and I was surprised to hear. "I am just blessed I guess. I am a speed guy. I don't have the size of these 300 pound linemen, but I am fast."
Because of that athletic ability, Moore could play on the outside at the next level. Three BCS conference schools have offered him already no matter what position he might end up.
"A lot of schools are saying I will be good size for defensive tackle, but most schools are recruiting me at defensive end," Moore said. "I have offers from Florida State, USF, and South Carolina."
The offers for Moore are apparently coming from his highlight package that schools have received already. He talked about each school that has offered.
FSU: "It's a nice school and they have a good program. I met some of their coaches at a junior day and I feel comfortable around them."
USF: "That is real close and they have a couple of players I know from the area on the team. I like their coaches a lot too and it is so close to home."
South Carolina: "I haven't talked to any coaches from South Carolina, but they called my coach and said they would offer."
The Florida Gators are on Moore too and like what he has to offer. Moore will be attending camp next week at Florida, the most prominent college football camp in the land and one that Moore is chomping at the bit to attend. Defensive line coach Dan McCarney will certainly be looking to see what Moore can do against some really big time players that will be in attendance.
"I am going to the Friday Night Lights in Gainesville on July 23," Moore said. "I was always a Florida guy and it was always a place I wanted to play...I know Coach Dan McCarney and he talked to me about my highlights and talked about the different ways I can improve. He said I need to work on my flexibility."
Moore understands it is early in the process for himself and all he really wants to do is the best he can in front of the Gator coaching staff.
"I don't know what might happen at Friday Night Lights, I am just hoping it will be good," he said. "I am just going to go up there and do as good as I can. I expect there to be some good challenges out there and I love a good challenge."
Moore is a big fan of former all-pro defensive tackle Warren Sapp and the way he played the game. Winning is something he clamors for and also a school that he can be proud of attending.
"I am a good reader and education is something that is very important," he said. "I just want to go to a place that has experience in winning championships. I want to feel comfortable at the place, that is also very important."
